SMSC stellt 6-Pin MediaLB Device Interface Makro vor

Karlsruhe - 1. Februar 2010 - SMSC, führender Anbieter von Smart Mixed Signal Connectivity™ Lösungen, stellt mit dem OS62420 eine MediaLB™ Device Interface Makro IP vor, das die 6-Pin Schnitstelle unterstützt. Dieses Makro ist für Hochleistungs-Datenübertragung ausgelegt und ermöglicht die nahtlose Integration in SOCs (System-on-Chip). Die IP beinhaltet ein komplettes Device und verfügt sowohl über eine MediaLB 3-Pin- als auch über die neue diffentielle 6-Pin-Schnittstelle zu intelligenten Netzwerk-Controllern (INICs) für das MOST® Netzwerk. Das MediaLB 3-Pin Interface leistet maximal 1.024 Frame-Samples (FS), entsprechend einer Datenrate von 49,2 Mbit/s in einem 48kHz MOST Netzwerk. Im MediaLB 6-Pin-Modus können maximal 8.192 FS übertragen werden, entsprechend 330 Mbit/s.
Das Makro enthält eine Anbindung an die Systemarchitektur eines SOCs. Das Interface ist kompatibel zur Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture (AMBA®) 2.0 (AMBA Hochleistungsbus und AMBA Peripheriebus)
MediaLB ist eine Chip-zu-Chip-Schnittstelle für Applications-ICs zur Anbindung an MOST Netzwerk-Controller. MediaLB-Device-Schnittstellen können kostenfrei in Microcontrollern genutzt werden. MediaLB wird von vielen wichtigen Halbleiterproduzenten unterstützt. 23 Hersteller nutzen dieses Interface in ihren automotiven Infotainement-Produkten.
