eBay brings in bookings to hotels' own websites: With professional microsites on the world's largest internet marketplace, the Berlin specialist for online distribution, Cultuzz Digital Media (www.cultuzz.com), ensures a boost to sales. The multimedia presentation in the corporate design of the hotel includes slideshows, YouTube videos and location info from Google Maps. Every eBay microsite designed by Cultuzz is linked with the actual hotel website via the seller's own "About Me" page, enabling bookings using the hotel's booking engine - with no commission fees.

At the same time, Cultuzz offers hotels a range of services unique worldwide in eBay's travel category. "The eBay microsite enormously increases the number of visitors to the hotel's own website, which is why the linking between eBay and the hotel's booking engine is so important," says Ted Montreal, Director of Sales and Marketing at Cultuzz. "But alone the possibility to book the hotel stay immediately after payment within eBay's checkout process makes eBay a genuinely high-performance distribution channel second to none."

Cultuzz identified this trend very early on and, as a result, is the only supplier to have developed the eBay availability calendar and integrated it as a standard service. Using the eBay availability calendar, potential hotel guests can see which arrival dates are still free before making a purchase. In addition, the booking can then be made seamless on eBay. "As we often offer remaining capacities on eBay, the hotels frequently only make a small allocation available. The availability calendar is an immense help here in preventing misunderstandings and avoiding the anger of either the buyer or the seller," says Ted Montreal.

Furthermore, Cultuzz provides advice and a full service for all back-office functions in the eBay travel category. The hotel must then only accept the booking." In recent years, eBay has grown into an acknowledged distribution channel for the tourism industry, " says Ted Montreal. Marketing and distribution costs are comparatively low. "On eBay, we successfully sell vouchers for arrangements for numerous hotels, which can be booked immediately. With the new applications, we are also enabling a rising number of bookings on the hotel websites."

Cultuzz is continuing to expand its market leadership in eBay hotel marketing with the microsites. With 750,000 sold hotel vouchers on eBay, Cultuzz is the largest supplier in this field. The hotel partners primarily include renowned chains and brand names as well as leading private hotels, but smaller hotels also make use of these services.
